ABOUT
Jeremy Chase is a Spanish-American film composer whose music merges cutting edge electronics with the rich colour palette of the modern orchestra in pursuit of new, unique sound worlds for each project.
A Virginia native, he is currently studying music as an undergraduate at the University of Virginia where he received the Undergraduate Arts Award in 2024 for his film compositions. Chase has written original scores for 20+ short films, student films, and documentaries including: No-Cry Sleep Solution, AURORA, Under The Magnolia Tree, Robbed Blind, Time’s Shadow, and the upcoming UVA women’s tennis team documentary. His scores have garnered recognition at film festivals such as the Adrenaline Film Festival and the Las Vegas Movie Awards. In 2025, Chase was Peninsula Music Festival’s emerging composer and his piece “Caribou” was premiered by the orchestra alongside selected works from John Williams.
Before college, Chase worked as an assistant for film composers Scott McRae and Ryan Rapsys. He also handled the Warner Media music catalog for Total Music Metadata and released a number of original electronic compositions with various record labels including Metanoia Music. His music mentors include: Ben Rous, Leah Reid, Marcus Sjöwall, Ryder McNair, John D’earth, and Jeff Kurtenacker.
